We believe if your story interests our readers or our writers enough, mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities exist. We've worked with many PR agencies in Singapore as well as restaurants, hotels, airlines etc. However, do note that we get over a hundred requests every week, so we are very selective of what we would cover under media invites.
Those that would qualify under media invitation include restaurant tastings, new products, theatre shows, hotel invitations, tourism board invitations, wellness treatments etc. Don't just send us a press release and expect us to post about it. That will never happen. Our content attracts a large readership because it is credible and written based on personal experience.
All coverage we give have to be personally experienced by our writers. Note that a media invitation will not guarantee a write up. If we have a bad experience, rather than give negative publicity, we will choose to not post about it. Reviews are dependent strictly on our writer's experience and that also means if we end up having a great experience we will rave about it.
Requesting a Media Invitation
Because of the number of invites we receive each day, we unfortunately are unable to accept all requests. Your media invitation has to be significant and of interest to our Singaporean readers.
We are highly selective of which invitations we accept so your offer must really stand out. Otherwise, there is always advertising which we will accept as long as your company has a good reputation.
Press releases without any proper invitation or the courtesy of an introductory email go straight in the bin. We are into building long term lasting relationships and do not appreciate being just another contact you spam your press release to on your mailing list. We pride ourselves with being able to provide more influence and coverage than other blogs or portals.
We are the only travel and lifestyle portal in Singapore that gets over 600k unique visitors a month.
We also have optional premium add-on features that can supplement your campaign such as banners, front page features and video highlights. If you're keen to run a longer campaign on TheSmartLocal through the year or enhance your features please refer to our advertisement page. If you're looking for bundled services like professional grade photography so you have commercial rights for pictures for your media release, check out our digital media solutions page.
Note that media invitations do not affect our review component on our site which is a different system that remains independent from media invites and advertising. All media invitations and advertorials will be explicitly declared as such for editorial integrity purposes.

Read More Influential Brand Stories by TSL
We recently went behind the scenes with the most influential brands in Singapore. Our mission was simple - to find out the secrets behind their success. We sent our journalists to the front-lines of retail shops and into the steaming kitchens of their restaurants and they came back with 18 original stories.
We found out what it was like to be a Gong Cha Girl for a day. We learned 10 lessons from the tirelessly hard-working Old Chang Kee aunties. We discovered Din Tai Fung's secret recipe to the perfect xiaolongbao. We even tailed a Zalora delivery man for a day to see how they carried out their deliveries so fast. Our team worked hard to produce these stories and we're now really proud to share them with you. It's time to discover something raw and personal - a different perspective from the brands you all know.
