Anyone like to share the views about the best and worst insurance providers?

It could be in any sense, in terms of products or service encountered.

I do think that NTUC income has the best and sincere advisors, especially the older ones. Not selling their product is the best, but the few older agents i have interacted with, they are all more concerned about whether I have the right insurance coverage first in terms of hospitalisation even when i told them i want to do investments. I am kind of touched by their work process.

Best = NTUC Income & Great Eastern

Worst = All the rest.

Why? Because all their agents are simply too pushy and pretentious. NTUC & Great Eastern have agents who genuinely know what they're selling.

Hmmm... not realy, depending on the case by case basis. I have my fair share of tip top serviced by agent who r my friend but was replaced by a sloppy one when he transfer to another firm. So, it is all boil down to individual preferences. &, ultimately it all depend on who do you designate to service your needs?

Hey, you can request to change agent if you happen to know one in the same firm. Just make sure mutual trust is there after assessment of the agent subject knowledge, likability factor & reliability factor.

No gloom, keep your eyes & ears open & you find the one just for you.

To be fair, my friends who are working in this field and are my advisors at the same time are generally cool. But probably putting them aside, and just looking at "strangers" advisors, things might be more in the right perspective.

Not sure if anyone encountered this before though. I already had an existing advisor with one of the companies. So usually when I walked past the road show, I will just tell the ladies (ya.. ladies, since that seems to be their targeting strategy) that I already have an advisor. To my surprise, instead of backing off, the lady asked if I wanted to get a second opinion. Hmm.. I was wondering if this was ethically correct, trying to get business away from another advisor. And I was thinking, my advisor already had such so much experience and this lady was probably just in this company for a short while.

From the TSL reviews it looks like NTUC and Prudential have completely different reactions even though they sell the exact same things. I must applaud NTUC for instilling good practices in their employees.

Anyone has any thoughts about Tokio Marine?

Been with NTUC all my life and I hear my mum complain about it most nights when the bills come, but it's still gonna be the company I stick with.

No idea about Tokio Marine though, sorry I'm no help!

I find that Tokio Marine Life policies offer either better benefits, better returns or lower premiums to the policyholders. TM Life is not an innovator, but it improves on policies innovated by others. Also, it has the reputation of being the only life insurer that has honoured the bonuses promised to customers, including the non-guaranteed bonuses, unlike all other insurers including NTUC Income who had cut bonuses during bad times.

I bought an NTUC Income policy with early-stage critical illness protection for my kid. Nearly one year later, I decided to cancel my NTUC Income policy and take up a TM Life policy instead because it offers the same dollar protection on early-stage critical illness at a much lower premium. How low? A whopping 40% discount! That said, I must clarify that it's not exactly an apple-to-apple comparison.

* Note: I have no vested interest in TM Life and I do not sell TM Life or any life insurance products. My comments are based purely on my observation.

Thanks for the input. I am actually considering TM but given that TM is not really as "famous" as the others I wanted to find out from others who have had TM policies before before committing. Thanks Equina!
