1. Thean Hou Temple
Being one of the largest and oldest temples in Southeast Asia, this ornate Chinese temple is a renowned spot due to its majestic structure. Be sure to have your DSLR with you to capture amazing shots during the night.

2. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

7. Escape Room, Berjaya Times Square
“What’s Escape Room?” you ask. This is a game which requires you to work in a team whilst putting all your senses to the test. Within a given time limit, you and your team are required to solve mind-boggling puzzles and find clues to escape the room. 8. Aquaria, KLCC
The next couple of items may be touristy but they are a part of Kuala Lumpur and worth the visit so we just can’t try to be different and leave them out. Touristy and proud!
Walk through this oceanarium with a 90-metre transparent tunnel to come face-to-face with exotic marine creatures. Aquaria KLCC houses some 250 different species of marine life, and 5,000 land and aquatic animals from Malaysia and around the world. This two-level oceanarium also houses interactive information kiosks on fish and turtle conservation.

9. KLCC Skybridge
Located on level 41 and 42, this double-deck skybridge offers a scenic view with lush greenery and modern skyscrapers. Observe the hustle and bustle of everyday city life from the skybridge, which stands approximately 170 metres above the ground. Its arch forms a symbolic gateway into the city centre. The view is breathtaking – literally, if you’re afraid of heights.

10. Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, KLCC
Since 1997, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) has been performing concerts throughout Malaysia and Singapore. As this orchestra is specifically devoted to classical music, many world renowned musicians have performed in this hall, such as the New York Philharmonic and Sydney Symphony.
Needless to say, this is the place to go if you’re big on classical music and we wish more people gave this a visit.

12. Taman Connaught Night Market (Wednesdays)
As Malaysians, we’re all about food. Look, there’s a night market there. Let’s go eat!
Taman Connaught’s night market is one of the longest night markets around, stretching 2.4 kilometers long. It has approximately 700 stalls for all your snacking needs so expect massive crowds!

13. Sri Petaling Night Market (Tuesdays)
Although not as huge as the one in Taman Connaught, this night market has many noodle stalls to choose from. Here, you can find noodles such as char kuey teow, asam laksa, fish and pork ball noodles, et cetera. Their asam laksa here is one of the best I’ve tasted.

14. Overseas United Garden (OUG) Night Market (Thursdays)
If you visit the other night markets, you’ll notice some hawker stalls are the same. That’s because both night markets are near each other. What’s more, you get to eat delicious noodles made by the same hawker twice a week!

15. Titiwangsa Lake Gardens
If you’re an outdoorsy person looking for parks for you and your family to bask in the sun, think Titiwangsa Lake Gardens. It has a beautiful lake at the centre of the park and vast spaces for kids to run around. A great place to go for a morning run, if you ask me. Also ideal for couples looking for a romantic spot.

16. Bintang Walk
If you’re a nocturnal person, Bintang Walk by night is the walk for you. Here, you’ll see bars, street stalls, restaurants and street performers. You’ll also notice the crowd of youngsters here, out to enjoy what the night has to offer them. The colourful and vibrant surroundings will keep you busy past midnight.

17. Islamic Arts Museum
Located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Islamic Arts Museum has over 7,000 artifacts and 12 main galleries specified to different kinds of artifacts. 20. Masjid India
As Masjid India is the oldest masjid in Kuala Lumpur, it is a major landmark here. Also known as Little India, this little enclave will delight you with the sounds and scents of India. 23. Batu Caves
Located just 13 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur, these 272-step climb up will be worth every bit of your effort. Being a limestone hill with a series of caves, it is one of the most well known Hindu shrines outside of India, which is dedicated to the Lord Murugan. Every year during the Thaipusam festival, thousands of devotees come to Batu Caves to worship and pay their respect to the Gods.

26. Taman Tun Dr. Ismail Ramadan Bazaar
In conjunction with the Ramadan month, hawkers set up shop around 4 pm along this street, selling wide varieties of food to Muslims to break their fast during the night. With food ranging from murtabaks to Malay style chicken rice, this Ramadan bazaar is one you don’t want to miss! It is also said to be the biggest Ramadan bazaar in town.

27. Sultan Abdul Samad Building
Located just opposite the Dataran Merdeka, this historical landmark is often swarmed with tourists as well as locals. Its distinctive and iconic structure makes it one of the most beautiful structures around. While impressive enough by day, the view will hold you spellbound at night.

28. Perdana Lake Gardens
One of the oldest man-made gardens in Kuala Lumpur, it used to be the official residence of a British government representative. The main highlight of Perdana Lake Gardens is its elegant British-style high tea and hotel, Carcosa Seri Negara.
With a total area of 227 acres, Perdana Lake Gardens is also home to numerous attractions, including the ASEAN Sculpture Garden and National Monument.
