This place is old and in need of some serious renovation. When i was 19, that is about 8 years ago, this place was pretty cool. It has a super cool pool and has a super cool club called liquid room which i frequent every week. (the club is now Filter but has since closed too)

Today, oh man.

It took me 40 minutes to check in even though there were 6 of them at the reception. Not all were competent in handling check in and 4 out of 6 just stood and smiled.

The person before me wanted a non-smoking room and a double bed but was told it was not available. She had to settle with a smoking room for her double bed. When it was my turn, I was given a non-smoking room with a double bed even though my request for high floor was not granted. It was puzzling as the previous guest could have gotten my room and i would not have cared if i got a smoking room.

So i went up to my room and it was in a complete mess. This is not the first time i was given a dirty room (Previously it happened at Rider's Lodge), seems like they are just giving me the opportunity to be dramatic. So i went down and in the end i was given a high floor, non-smoking double bedroom, something i wanted right from the start. So, they should throw away their computer or fix the person using the computer, they are seriously rubbish. (A manager checked me in)

I settled down in my room and found a curly hair on my bed, great.

I also felt like i was in a factory or beside a generator plant because the aircon was making a really loud noise and the room was almost vibrating. I requested to change my room but they sent me the aircon technician. So they took a look and said i should not on my aircon to full because at a high windspeed, my aircon will vibrate and create the sound. So i lowered it and it was still noisy.

Completely unacceptable. All i wanted was a clean, quiet room with smooth check-in but gallery hotel ticked none of these boxes.

Rubbish.

Not to add there are 3 lifts to get from carpark to my room. Terrible.

Once upon a time, my office was just opposite this hotel. From my office, we had a clear view of the roof top swimming pool. I was lucky enough my wife's best friend had her wedding lunch in the hotel.

This allowed me to visit the hotel from the inside and be at the swimming pool itself rather than just seeing from opposite. My wife's friend allowed us to visit her honeymoon suite. The suite was not as spacious as the other honeymoon suites I had seen but the decoration sure was unique. My wife's friend also told us that each room in the hotel was decorated differently.

We were also able to get to the roof top swimming pool. This being not a big scale hotel, there was not that many staff so when we visited, there was no staff there. There was a counter for towels, I guessed you need to self-service to get the towels.
