Fingertip is one of the many nail parlors situated in The Bencoolen, an old building located in Bugis which I have passed by millions of time on the way to Sim Lim Square, but have never stepped foot in until yesterday. It is about a 10-15 minutes walk from Bugis Station and is probably more well-known for its fruit stall in level one.

I was introduced to this nail parlour by a friend, and I decided to give it a try as I needed a pampering session after the agonizing exam period. The place was indeed old and unattractive, and I was surprised at the number of patrons to Fingertip despite the condition of the mall itself. It is hardly a place the youngsters would visit, and yet we had to make a reservation!

The service at Fingertip is definitely impeccable. The shop front itself is small and simple, but the nail artists are all mad talented at their job. We were ushered into the shop by the amicable lady boss as we were too early and they were still busy serving other guests, and coupled with the constant sincere apology for the wait, they allowed us to flip through their books of nail art designs as we waited.

We couldn't find a design that we actually liked from their past designs, so we simply just flashed some ideas that we liked from pictures in our phones and explained the designs. The nail artists are all very friendly and willing to accommodate to our requests! I was initially worried about the standard of their art as I've seen some bad examples of nail art, but my worries were put to ease when I saw the nail art on my nail artist, Jessalyn. She had an exact replica of the cartoon Marie Cat on her nails, and she drew it herself! I was so amazed.

She managed to deliver what I had in mind perfectly. I didn't have an exact idea of what I wanted on my nails, so I simply showed her some different ideas, explained what I wanted and allowed her to be creative. The end result is so beautiful that I cannot stop admiring my nails! I've already received quite a few compliments on my nails too. I'm definitely heading back again to get my nails fixed in future!

Classic mani-pedi with gellish french and nail art designs added up to a total of approximately $100, which is really affordable and value-for-money for the designs can stay up to a month! You also don't have to worry about destroying the designs as gellish nails are pretty much indestructible. Moreover, signing a $500 package entitled us to $150 free credits as well, which my friend and I shared. Definitely worth the price, service and quality!
