Like in my other reviews of the local hawker scene...I believe many will agree with me...that when you see a long queue, that's a high probability that stall has something that attracts. It might be a "mass crowd" effect or slow "inefficient turnover"....but end of the day, consumers (especially us foodies) are a discerning lot. If the offering is sub-par...then the long queue will not last long, period.

I chanced upon Jin Jin Hot/Cold on two occasion over a week, when I visited the ABC Brickworks Food Center. On the first occasion, I thought to myself...20-30min for a dessert? no way! . Then on the second visit, the long queue was still there...then I thought to myself..."this have to be good. Must check it out"...any way, I am a dessert lover...and chendol always makes my knees buckle. And in Jin Jin's case...my fave dessert is described as "Power Chendol"...Wa, power ?! Ok la...Picture on the stall looks reasonable, although I can shoot a more beautiful looking Chendol ;-) "... but Power proves irresistible, and easy on your wallet too...just $1.50/bowl.

One thing that warms you is that one of the stall staff approaches the patrons in the queue and takes your order in advance so that he can alert his colleague churning out the goodies on the update - "more chendols, more chendols...mango ice,.." They even wear corporate Jin Jin Polo-Shirts..Wow!...standardization and branding. I can safely say..."this is the dessert stall to watch"...and when I set the listing on TSL...and research further...OMG!...a dessert stall website with "About us, Fan Page, Facebook page, Latest news, Fun Facts..."
Don't you just love discovery ? in this instance, I discovered how "mountain tortoise" I was to have missed this gem of a place...

So did the Power Chendol lived up to it's namesake? I can only say 1 thing...I'm going back to ABC Brickwork Food Center soon ! and Jin Jin plays a big part in that decision ... Have a Power Chendol ! Taste the Power !!! And many other sweet desserts... :-9"""""
