I'd concur with most of the reviews here. If you are looking for good value for money, you'd be disappointed here. Serving sizes are a little small but I do like the Jerk Spiced chicken (or something tantamount to that). The taste somehow agrees with me. I can't say the same about their other menu offerings.

About the olive oil issue, I did manage to take a peek into their kitchen once. I saw cans of olive oil. So I suppose it is true. However, you can't tell by taste because the olive oil is probably a blend or at the very least non-extra virgin. It is the extra virgin oil that has a distinctive taste.

BBQ stands for Best of the Best Quality so when I visited the restaurant, I had a higher expectations. For someone to dare to claim to be the Best of the Best, you must have a lot of confidence.

I could say that I was disappointed with their claim. If high price means quality, then they certainly can claim they have quality because the prices were higher than other restaurants serving similar western food dishes. They claimed that they used olive oil for cooking so I guessed that gave them the reason to charge a higher price.

I was not used to high class food so I could not differentiate food cooked with olive oil or food cooked with vegetable oil. To me, the taste was not much difference so I will not be paying the higher price for BBQ.

it kinda relieves my guilt with the large advertisements claiming that olive oil has many health benefits especially when fried chicken uses so much oil! true or not, i shall not comment but the fried chicken does taste fresher unlike fast food chicken. i have tried the chargrilled chicken steak which was pretty well done, the flavours were strong, which i believe is as what they have claimed, 48hours marination. i personally love anything that is grilled or roasted to a dark golden brown and it was a spendid choice for me. it also has many promotions such as 1 for 1 and student or lunch promo that you might wish to try. however, service staff is slow, unresponsive and unattentive, i had to walk over to the staff personally each time i needed something.

I would say BBQ Chicken serves decent food, nothing too fantastic but not much to complain about either. Its student meals are also quite affordable, ranging from $6.90-$9.90 but its portions are small - not enough for a big eater.

I ordered the Cream Chicken and Mushroom Pasta, which was satisfactory although not as creamy or as cheesy as I would have liked. Its student meals come with drinks and you can top $1.50-$3.00 for side dishes such as soups or fries.

Ambience-wise, this restaurant would probably quite close to K-POP Paradise if you were a K-POP fan because K-POP music videos are played all day long in big-screen TVs all over the restaurant, with the latest K-POP hits filtering through the speakers.

I've been craving for BBQ Chicken's Col-Pop Chicken, which is basically a big paper cup of soft drink with a small compartment of fried-chicken pieces that covers the drink. It's like a fun 2-in-1 thing that's also convenient to carry around.

Sadly, they don't seem to serve it that way anymore. My order arrived separately – My drink in a normal glass and my chicken in a normal bowl. I was pretty surprised because the last time I dined there, it arrived exactly as depicted in the picture. I am okay with it, albeit a little disappointed, but I do wish they told me in advance!

I also had the Carbonara ($13.90), which I found to be a little too creamy. The portion size was alright though. All in all, the place is okay - good ambience, fun kpop music continuously playing and the food is decent and the prices are reasonable. Not too crazy about the place myself, though.

When BBQ chicken first hit town, it was always packed with the curious and excited foodies, dying to try out the new BBQ jerk with its sensational seasoning and flavoring. I still remember the Korean waiter that greeted me with a vibrant smile.

However, I'm sad to say that the BBQ chicken up to date is no longer comparable to it's former glory. I gave it a few chances before I decide to finally give up on it. My experience with this place worsen with each visit. The rice was half cooked, the service crew was rude and unhelpful.

The only thing that tasted up to my expectations was the cup of Pepsi I was served.I sat in the restaurant for half an hour and waited if they realised that they missed out an order of mine.

To sum it up, don't even bother to waste your time and money here. Visiting the hawker center might be a better experience.

I've been there only once and I'm not going back for sure. If you're looking for cheap Western fare, you're better off at, say, Pastamania.

We had their pasta carbonara and aglio olio. Both lacked flavour and needed seasoning, particularly the carbonara. The carbonara dish was but noodles swimming in bland, unseasoned cream. It very quickly became a chore to eat because the cream was just so cloying. The bits of bacon didn't help much. The aglio olio was even more lacking in flavour and nothing more than grease and noodles for me.

I wouldn't recommend their fried chicken either. Depending on personal taste, you might think it's the same as, or not any better than, KFC. But either way, for reasons of affordability, I'd go to KFC for fried chicken any time.

By the way, don't be fooled by their '100% olive oil' advert. If you want to eat healthy, you shouldn't be chomping on deep-fried stuff or slurping cream, so whether they use lard or olive oil makes no difference.

BBQ Chicken is daring, it's inventive, it's... it's chicken. And the selling point? It's healthy chicken with 100% pure olive oil... well not really. Let's get down to it,

the service is mediocre
the atmosphere it sets with decent lighting and glass walls are rather cozy and actually quite nice
the food is slightly pricey but it's worth it for the dining experience.

Of course, my biggest peeve, my deciding factor, and the cornerstone of what I consider to be a good dining experience: The Food. Good news is that it's not half bad, the serving portions are decent and everything is well cooked and the flavours are quite powerful. The Bad News? It's Chicken. And whether you want to admit it or not, every variation of Chicken (save wasabi chicken) known has been invented, done and tasted by nearly everybody.

You can't be too creative with Chicken. BBQ it, fry it, sambal it, butter it up, whatever you do with Chicken, it's been done before. That's the only let down. It's only chicken!

I used to frequent the BBQ Chicken stall (read: stall, not restaurant) at Changi Airport Terminal 3 food court for they serve the same choices as the restaurant but less than half the price. On top of that, you do actually get a selection of sides (pasta salad, fries, whipped potato and etc) as compared to the fixed fries you get at the restaurant (I've tried once previously. However, this stall has long since closed down.

There were about 6 different bbq chicken options, with the fiery one for someone who can take the extreme spicy level. I've tried this and since I'm not a very good eater of hot stuffs, it was an awful sight to see me eating that for I'm struggling to finish it while wiping tears and sweat off my face.

My favorite, and being one of the more special options available would be the ginseng chicken. Unlike my first expectation, the chicken was really coated with a strong ginseng smell. On the other hand, while the smell is strong, the taste isn't overwhelming but still sufficient to gives off a mild ginseng after taste.

Now that the stall has closed down, the food still doesn't attract me enough to pay more than double the price I used to be paying to try their restaurants.

Let's start off with the positive remarks. I like the ambiance in BBQ Chicken. I've went to this restaurant only once with my teammates and we had a heart to heart talk in the restaurant. Even though we finished the food in less than 40 minutes, we stayed there for more than an hour. The waiters didn't give us the 'stare' that would make us feel stress out, instead they left us alone there to have our team chat. I feel that if it was other restaurants, they would probably chase us off. Hence, I felt that it was pretty nice of them. But I guess there were not much customers too.

Next up, the negative points. Well, I find their food slightly too pricey for students like us, especially when their serving is not really that big as well. Another thing that I'm so curious about is that why do they have to serve us with such a big plate for the soup of the day. I mean, all of us were laughing when the soup were served to us. It took up so much spaces.

Bad service. Utterly bad service.

I was starving when i went to the branch at West Coast Plaza, and they did nothing to help. A hungry man is an angry man. They made me even more pissed with their bad service, but luckily, their attitude wasn't bad.

The table wasn't cleaned properly, and even after they cleaned the table again, there was a horrible smell emitting from the somewhere from the table. I was utterly disgusted. My guess would be that the cloth was too dirty and hadn't been washed for quite a period of time, thus the off-putting smell. Then the waiter was also very inexperienced and we had quite a hard time trying to order whatever we wanted. Lastly, they do not offer water. Not even tap water. You want water? Ok, buy our bottled water. No thanks, I'd rather go thirsty. I think it is basic service that restaurants serve us water at our request, it doesn't need to be sparkling water, lemon water or boiled water, even tap water would do, just like some restaurants around are doing such.

We were very displeased with their service, and seeing that they decided to offer water on the house. That at least improved things a little.

Hope they buck up, service wise. Meanwhile, i'll consider revisiting.

The only food item I really love from BBQ Chicken is their Jamaican Jerk. It's really good, a little spicy and the chicken is marinated nicely. However, I'm really quite suspicious of this whole healthy theme of the restaurant. They use olive oil in trying to attract the health conscious but they serve deep-fried food. How healthy can that be?

Besides, I'm not so sure of the health benefits in using olive oil at high temperatures to deep fry. As I know, olive oil begins to burn and smoke at quite a low temperature. So be careful what you're eating! And don't always fall for these advertising traps! Might I also add that food here is a little overpriced.

Whenever I go to BBQ Chicken, I would order their Korean Traditional Charbroiled chicken because I really like the taste. The sauce that goes along with the chicken just makes it taste better. The dish comes with two sides. I believe you can find it in the set lunch or student menu, so it would be cheaper, and comes with a drink and/or soup too!

Have not really tried other things here because I usually hear people commenting that their food is not that nice. Once I went to the outlet at Hougang 1 with my family members, and my mom claimed that her grilled chicken omelette rice was not that nice. I have personally tried the chicken cutlet omelette rice before, and thought it tasted pretty okay, nothing fantastic though.

I do not come here often, so every time I do eat here, the Korean Traditional Charbroiled chicken would be my number one choice! I definitely recommend this to those who have not tried it yet.

Oh yes, if you are an anti-Kpop, I'd advise you to stay away unless the volume of the music is put to a minimum.

BBQ chicken does not make it into my good books for sure, I am hardly impressed by the food and service and most, of all the price! I have eaten here on a couple of occasions and to be honest, they were not exactly fond experiences. The food does not really have anything special to get into my good books, it seems like something another chicken restaurant can serve up overnight. Furthermore, at times the staff can be really unfriendly, and it seems as if they are not willing to take my order. The food is way overpriced. I would not recommend eating here, it is somewhat a healthier version of KFC, and a cheap version of Kenny Rogers.
