I12 Katong recently underwent renovation and after its facelift, I was greatly impressed with its new look. Now, they've got so many restaurants, cafes and eateries that I am spoiled for choice! i can hardly decide where I should go for lunch! First up, they have a two storey high din tai feng, canton paradise, TGIF, Yomenya Goemon, just to name a few.

Also, there is a cinema, owned by golden village at the top level.

Though there isn't much shops to do shopping, I am not complaining as they've really got a huge variety of eateries and restaurants there. One downside of I12 Katong is their carpark. The carpark is rather small and cramp. Hence, if the mall's carpark is full, you will have to park quite a distance and walk over. However, that won't stop me from visiting I12 Katong.

One thing about 112 Katong is that it isn't connected to any MRT station or within walking distance of an MRT station, making it quite inaccesible compared to other shopping malls out there. There is, however, a free shuttle service from Paya Lebar MRT station but it's still a minus point for me.

However, 112 Katong is really a food paradise because there are a lot of restaurants and cafes - you'd really be spoilt for choice. Places include the popular Din Tai Fung and Sushi Tei, along with bubble tea chain Gong Cha. It also has a movie theatre upstairs, and is the only movie theatre in that area.

A special feature about 112 Katong is that its floors are carpeted, giving the mall a very posh feel.

I've been here a few times with my friends for lunch and I must say that we were definitely spoiled for choice!

From Gongcha and Breadtalk to Din Tai Fung and Sushi Tei - there's so many f&b outlets there we had a difficult time to choose! With it being in such close proximity to Parkway Parade, I must say that it certainly does stand out in its own way.

The interior decor was already vastly different, with I12 giving a more 'posh' feeling. While it doesn't have the supermarket or apparel stores that Parkway has, it has a cinema and more food choices for the residents in the area!

Another plus point that it has is the free shuttle bus service to Paya Lebar MRT station! It makes it a lot more accessible!

Really glad that this Mall appeared out of nowhere in the middle of Katong, amidst all the shophouses along the road. Surprisingly, the mall is pretty huge, containing a few banks, a theatre, half a level of food court and many other retail stores. Certain parts of the mall reminds me alittle of Funan, because there are a couple more electronics store, compared to other heartland malls.

It's not a mall that I would consider for my shopping, because there aren't much apparel/fashion stores for me to browse through. But they do have a couple of Asian restaurants like "Din Tai Fung," "le Viet Cafe," "Ramenplay," etc, which is something I look forward to trying someday!

Apparently the name of the mall is supposed to be pronounced as 'I want to' instead of 'one one two,' but I guess the misreading of the mall name has became a habit amidst us. 112 sounds better now. :)

112 Katong is probably one of the classiest malls in Singapore. Although the shopping at 112 Katong is nothing near impressive, the lighting and the flooring of the mall definitely makes for an incredibly classy and relaxing ambience.

112 Katong is definitely the foodie's paradise. Restaurants and cafes basically line the mall, and shoppers are certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what to eat. From Japanese restaurants like Sushi Tei, to Chinese cuisine found in Ding Tai Fung, 112 Katong is definitely a great place for food.

Restaurants aside, 112 Katong also houses small cafes and dessert shops, such as Marble Slab Creamery and Gloria Jean's, so customers can even settle down for dessert and light coffee after a meal.

Shopping wise, perhaps shoppers are better off going to Parkway Parade, which definitely offers a more extensive shopping selection as compared to the incredibly minute one at 112 Katong.

Take a step into I12 and behold the many eating places and gourmet food outlets that span across the shopping mall. I don't know about you, but one of the best parts about a shopping trip is the snack break. And at I12, you're spoiled for choice.

Another thing that I really like about I12 is that it has carpeted flooring and is probably one of a small number of shopping malls that has carpeted flooring. You might ask, what's the big deal about carpets? But carpets are soft and luxurious. By having carpeted flooring the shopping experience in I12 becomes so much more enhanced. I'm definitely going back.

112 Katong lies on the plot of land where Katong Mall previously was, a childhood hangout place for me where it's infested with LAN gaming shops. There wasn't much of interest other than the LAN gaming shops, at least to me, and the whole Katong Mall feels very run-down and eerie.

Now that 112 Katong has took over, I had to find an opportunity to visit the place and see for myself how different this place has become.

My first impression of 112 Katong was....Wow! Totally awesome feeling it gives me, with the carpeted flooring (at the basement levels only) and dim lighting, it encouraged the luxury sensation. Doesn't really feels like a heartland mall but rather, shopping inside the mall can pass off as shopping in one of the luxury malls along Orchard.

While the dining and retail varieties are vast, I prefer to dine at Charly T's where they serve affordable and good food, although the portion might be a little bit less satisfying for people with big appetite like me.

You can't have the best of everything I suppose, for the parking charges at 112 Katong were never per-entry at anytime of the day or week. Be warned that your parking charges might be pricey if you intend to stay there for extended hours. One alternative I can suggest is to park at Roxy Square, just 2 blocks down the road, where they offer per-entry parking in the evenings everyday and that's what I usually do if I were to patronize 112 Katong.

Come here for food. This place is truly a foodie's paradise, one can eat to their heart's content. Open not long ago, this place has many restaurants, japanese, western, mexican and so on, enough to please any fussy palate.

After that you can then head on the dessert stores. There is Max Brenner's choc store for the ones with extra cash to spare, and even premium ice cream and coffee outlets.

The shopping is not lacking too. The shops there sell fashionable clothes, and this shopping centre does carry some good brands.

If you only come here for the shopping, head outside, for East Coast Road has many good eats too.

Katong 112 (or is it I12?) is a food hub for the foodies in Singapore. Unlike typical neighbourhood shopping centres, this mall consists of mostly food outlets. From franchise outlets such as Sushi Tei to cafes such as The Soup Spoon to even the rather expansive food court at the top floor, food aficionados can find something to be pleased about.

In my opinion, the food section is their forte, as the shopping here isn't very good. I feel that the fashion outlets here are catered towards the working class adult, as prices can escalate up to over $100 just for a simple dress.

112 Katong is a typical mall, comprising of nothing special or unique to set it apart from the rest.

112 Katong consists of largely food outlets, containing eateries such as Café Cartel and Sushi Tei. The mall is dimly lit, but more in a classy way than in a seedy way. It exudes an air of extravagance, which certainly goes with the higher prices of apparel sold there! Not many retailers have set up shop there, and the clothes that are available there are mostly catering to the older crowd and more pricey. A simple dress would be priced above a hundred dollars. The shopping there is rather disappointing, and I would not return for another visit.

112 Katong’s only saving grace is that it is relatively deserted most of the time, such that people who do not want to navigate the crowds at Orchard Road can catch up with friends over a meal there.
