Walking all the way to such a deserted place, I would say that I was not at all impressed with the location of this hotel. I mean, would I be in a good mood after having to endure a hike up the little fort canning hill in the hot sun?! It was a horrid start to the morning, and for those not familiar with the whereabouts of fort canning, it is quite a difficult hotel to find.

I walked into the lobby all sweaty and unglam, but was greeted very nicely and politely by the hotel staff who offered to hold our bags. The place looks extremely glam, and for casual holiday-ers like us, I definitely felt under dressed. The old colonial feel to the place made it somewhat like a modernised palace, and I was very thrilled to be the princess in boarding for the weekend.

After enjoying a dip in the pool, we proceeded to lazing in the hotel. The television had wireless functions, and we could surf the net using the television keyboard which I thought was pretty cool. Furthermore, the bathroom was huge with a quaint little bath tube, enough to enjoy some bubble bath therapy. Even the view from the toilet felt like royalty as it overlooked the beautiful night skyline of orchard road and beyond.

I felt really blessed living in the 'palace' and would definitely come back. Although it is quite inaccessible and difficult to find, it serves well as a little quiet holiday getaway on your little fort canning island.
